Logical Implications
نویسنده
چکیده
In this article we apply a method for presenting numeric predicates as a closed set of ’closed sets’ associated with the objects instead of a closed set of attributes associated with a set of objects. In order to derive additional knowledge from a dataset we introduce a new measure called ’distance’ that emphasises changes in attribute values. Key–Words: Decision support services, uncertainty management, closed sets

The current paper has introduced sensemaking as one of the concepts emerging from cognitive sciences. Also, attempts have been made to explore the practical implications of this concept in industrial and organizational psychology. Sensemaking has been regarded as an effort toward systematic and logical understanding of events through which individuals make sense of their environmental phenomena...
متن کاملTowards a Unified Logical Framework of Fuzzy Implications to Compare Fuzzy Sets
In fuzzy set theory, comparison of fuzzy sets plays an important role. Among the several ways to compare fuzzy sets, we address the logical theoretic approach using fuzzy implications. We propose a general framework allowing to generate many measures of comparison: inclusion, similarity and distance, and study their properties. Since the literature on the use fuzzy implications for defining suc...
متن کاملSheffer Stroke Fuzzy Implications
A new family of fuzzy implications, motivated by classic Sheffer stroke operator, is introduced. Sheffer stroke, which is a negation of a conjunction and is called NAND as well, is one of the two operators that can be used by itself, without any other logical operators, to constitute a logical formal system. Classical implication can be presented just by Sheffer stroke operator in two ways whic...
متن کاملMinimalism and the logical structure of the lexicon
This paper explores the linguistic implications of Non-commutative Linear Logic, restricted to its multiplicative fragment NMLL. In the paper particular emphasis is given to the logical representation of lexical information and of the principles of the X-bar theory.
متن کاملLogical Form vs. Logical Form: How does the Difference Matter for Semantic Computationality?
Logical form in logic and logical form (LF) in the Minimalist architecture of language are two different forms of representational models of semantic facts. They are distinct in their form and in how they represent some natural language phenomena. This paper aims to argue that the differences between logical form and LF have profound implications for the question about the nature of semantic in...
متن کاملRepresentation of Logical Form in Memory
Current theories of human deductive reasoning make different claims about the representation of logical statements in memory. Syntactically-based theories claim that abstract logical forms are represented veridically in memory, separate from content, whereas semantic theories propose that naïve reasoners represent combinations of possibilities that are based on the content of statements. We tes...
